If anyone's interested in free internet calls and eventually really cheap international calls, check out this free software:

http://www.skype.com

You download the client (which is very much like any other IM client). You can use the Skype client to call other Skype clients. Soon, they're releasing Skypeout which will allow you to call any normal telephone globally for a small fee. From their pricelist, looks like for many of the more accessible countries (US, UK, much of Europe, Australia, etc) will only cost 0.012 Euro cents a minute.

With the advent of Wi-Fi hotspots all over the place, I can see people plugging in headsets into laptops and calling around the world for a fraction of Telco prices. We should support initiatives like this!!

I've used skype quite a bit to chat with my family around the world - you can do small voice only conferences on it too - works pretty well.

I also use both Skype and MSN Messenger to talk with family and friends. I would say the audio quality is comparable on both systems, but Skype seems to handle firewalls a bit better. When I was at infoComm I was unable to use Messenger from the hotel but Skype worked like a champ.
So Kevin any how about Skype integration with the Codian MCU or does that already exist? I know I want everything!

I was amazed by this software when I tried this first time. Very clear voice even a call between Iran and Japan was perfect and I could even hear people chatting in the background.

My skype ID is "keiscnar", call me when you find I'm online.

I am curious if Skype supports video capability integrated into the sofotware...
