Does the MGC 100 support any forms of encryption in its standard form, or do you have to buy add ons that will support this? One of our clients is interested in using DES on it's bridge calls...
any takers? :)

Hi,
at the moment the MGC itself does not cipher conferencing.
PLCM have announced that this is something that they are going to implement in the future releases (AES)

rumor has it there will be a new MUX card for the MGC that will support encryption. Not sure when though or at what cost

AES is coming to the MGC soon via a software change and it might require the newer boards for the processing horsepower. The MCU will always lag the endpoints because you need something for it to connect with.

It requires a new MUX card for ISDN and a newer IP+ card for IP.
The MCU lagging the endpoints has always been a problem in this industry. I think you will find every endpoint feature of the TANDBERG line is supported in the MPS. Its all a matter of sharing an architecture between your endpoints and your MCU. This allows a quicker turnaround on solution wide features.
