The Idea of bridging in Usenet posts here are great, but then it should be done on a regualar basis. (or the New Usenet posts link isn't working :)

So now when I'm using the Search tool, I get a lot of hits from ancient Usenet posts... makes it harder to find the vtctalks posts I was looking for.

So import(/export?!) Usenet posts every minute or so, and make it an option to search usenet posts aswell as vtctalks posts :)

Actually I think the problem here (with you finding old Usenet posts) isn't the forum updating. It's the particular newsgroup itself. Most of the newsgroups we have currently, especially the most relevant to us (comp.dcom.videoconf) is full of old posts and not very active. We can all fix that by posting there regularly too to try and help bring it abck to life :)

The server currently checks for new updates every hour. So when you think about it chances are that you will be searching pretty soon after or close to the next update. The thing is, usenet can take 4 hours or more to update it's listings including when we post to them. Having said all of that I may be able to tweak the search to work better with the Usenet posts. I set it up to include them in results but I may have to have the site search indexer check them a little more often.

Thanks Robert.
