Picturetel 900 PTZ camera Problem....

Dear All,

Does anyone know about the Picturetel 900 systems will work for using PTZ-2N camera or any other choice due my Picturetel 70 camera are broken.......Thx for advice!

I'd be looking on ebay for a replacement. The older PowerCam 100 won't work with the 900 series.

I wonder if the Sony EVI-D30 or D100 would work. They work with the iPower 9000 codec. The software is the same, so if you could wire up a breakout connector for the serial connections...

The Sony EVI 30 series will certainly provide video BUT you will not be able to control it from the iPower application. Things changed on the 9000 where the controls are all Visca format.

I might have it on topshelf in basement (I never throw anything away) at work so If you send me the model number or somthing I can use to verify it's the same camera.

Since the EVI-D30 works with the 9000, and they are software based, I made a cable and tried the EVI-D30 on a 960... It works! Apparently the system recognizes the different cameras. The diagram of the adapter cable I made is attached.
