Hi.
Does anyone have a list of RS232 commands to operate a Sony PCS-11 VC Unit?
The information I got from the local agent was very difficult to decipher, I was hoping someone may have done this before and have catalogued the commands.
Hoping someone can help with this.
Cheers

Thanks for your reply Oliver, this is the document I already have.
I'm not too technical with this stuff but if I had a list of ASCII or HEX commands that correlate to the functions on the remote control, I can then program a Xantech IR to RS232 converter to operate it from an AMX panel.
I'm trying to isolate an IR problem by controlling it this way instead.
The document you refer to seems to elude to some of these functions only. Perhaps the RS232 port isn't designed for this purpose?
Cheers

You may be right. Perhaps their RS232 commands are different than the IR commands so I don't think the IR to RS232 converter will do the trick. AMX can take your IR remote, copy the IR commands for their IR cards and send it back along with the IR file for you to program your system. They usually do this for free as they get the additional IR file for database. Otherwise, you will have to program it with the serial commands and come up with your own structure. I have programmed Polycom iPower systems and although the IR commands are able to be emulated with the RS232 commands, the RS232 command list is much more extensive than the simpler IR commands. It maybe that Sony does not have corresponding IR commands in the RS232 code. I know Sharp does not have IR commands in their RS232 code which really makes it a pain to program some functions on their projectors...
