Wireless Camera System

I have a client with a need for a wireless camera solution. The prerequisite is that the cameras will be placed out doors, need to be PTZ controled, battery powered and operate upto ten kilometers away from the control room. Would anyone have a solution for this?

There are various companies in the broadcast area that sell such systems, the problem is cost. Most systems start at about 15k and the good ones (COFDM) are generally around 30-50k. What level of quality does the client need on the video and what type of budget do they have to work with?

I agree that a "wireless" camera with those requirements is going to be expensive. The only way you are going to be able to accomplish this is through a microwave shot system using batteries and solar cells. Depending on the type of lens assembly, location and mission, you may not get your answer from this open forumn.
