Hi:

I would be interested in networking with any members who are implementing a converged H.323 videoconferencing solution on their WAN. Also, if you work with shared classes, professional development, or other types of programming, I would like to communicate.

Thanks,

Hi, Lisa,

I'm just lurking around in here to see if there are any teachers involved in any of the forums. If there are teachers, holler back in this forum. It would be good to get some discussion going amongst us, in this thread that Lisa has so graciously instigated. I facilitate online interactions between astronomers and K12 students. See http://cilc.org and search "Dyer" for the programs...

Groovy.

Hi Lisa,
We use our converged LAN and WAN connections for the majority of our conferencing needs. I’m on the technical side of the house so I’m not going to be as helpful on the content side but I’d be happy to help if needed. BTW we also do a lot of calls on the public internet, but then again because we are a university we have a very large pipe :)

Hi! I am very new to this videoconferencing stuff! I am a teacher, but am filling in for the professional development/curriculum facilitator for the rest of the year which as allowed me time and training for videoconferencing. I'm trying to get it off the ground in our district. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Scott - I have used cilc.org and recently booked a videoconference through them for teacher training from the National D-Day museum. It's a nice resource.

Hi,
My name it Troy. I am the operations manager with NASA Langley Research Center's Digital Media Lab. We do video conferences with schools all over the U.S. and different parts of the world. Topics range from Earth sciences to nearly any space topic. These conferences are tailored to the grade level(s) being presented to.
If anyone has any questions about our programs you can contact me through this board to set up a telephone or video conference.

Have a great day!!

Hi Lisa,
I recently started with the University of Maryland's Engineering faculty in their distance education group. We support videconferenced and streamed shared classes. I know that long before I started, they were doing shared classes on microwave broadcasting. Now we're videoconferencing up to 3 other remote sites for some of our classes. My task with the group is to look at improving technologies and processes to better serve our distance education classes. I'd be happy to share what I have...

Welcome to the US. If you get a chance, you should come out to the campus on July 4th. Some friends of mine and I do the fireworks show for the University.
