this is most likely a little of topic as its not really a standard for high end video telephony.

but i was wondering if anyone here has some experience with it. how is the picture quality? call setup time? stuff like that.

I am using 3g324m based 3G mobile videophone in my country, but as the bandwidth is just 64kbps used for video, you can not expect too much from it. But since high resolution display is available and getting better recently, it is kind of "covering up" the weakness regarding the video quality. But not enough.
Maybe we have to wait for 4G to come around 2010 to have much better video quality.

I've seen a video conference with 3G 324M, SIP and H323 endpoints via a Radvision unit. From what I understand the 324M is available outside of the US. In the Radvision chassis, there was an MCU and MVP (media video processor) specifically for 3G. There was a 3G video phone and the call quality for all endpoints was very good.

Currently NTT Bizlink, formerly NTT Phoenix, conferencing bridge service provider, is now offering gateway service for 3g324m to h.323 in multipoint meetings.

Also, NTT Communications will olaunch the gateway service for consumer IP video chat service this December or early next year.
