Keisuke,

Great information! Keep it coming!

I was wondering if you could let the rest of us know what kind of foothold Sony has in the VTC market in Japan? If I remember correctly you posted at some time that Polycom was the dominant manufacturer there (as it is in most places). Has Sony's new dedication to VTC made any strong headway there in it's home country?

According to market data collected by local market research firms,Sony has the second position in the video endpoint market preceded by Polycom. The market is largely divided by these two players with others having around 10% market share.
Anyway, Sony is going to debut these two products at "Videoconference Forum", a conference and exhibition organized by NikkeiBP on October 13 and 14 in Tokyo.
Sony is certainly trying to catch up with Polycom to get the first position in the market by doing all sorts of marketing campagin like advertisement etc.. I can sense that they are spending lots of money on this.
But since Polycom Japan office opened in 1999, so far Polycom has sucessfully established their brand name as conferencing manufacturer in Japan and leading the market here.
