Has anyone else noticed network realted problems with their H.323 cards on MGC ver. 6.00.65 when there are alot of reservations made? I've heard of some people rolling back to version 3 or 4, but we choose to clear out and only schedule reservations a week or two in advance.

One of our customers uses an MGC to bring in a backside IP user to our call. We had a call going on at the same time a lot of other calls were on the MCU and the technician reported the MGC was a bit "taxed" at that point causing a few problems with multiple sites. Could just be an MCU horsepower thing.

Thanks George, we seem to have problems related to reserved resources, not actual ongonig conferences. We often lost gatekeeper sync, or remote video sync, and would be forced to reset our H.323 cards to remedy the problem.

When you upgraded to 6.xx, how much memory does your MGC Control system have ? I would highly suggest you have the 256mb module.... We have seen some "weirdness" when upgrading systems to the 6.xx if the module didn't have 256mb.

Gary,
Our MGC 50 has the 256MB module. And we recieved it from the re-seller with MGC Manager v.6.XX preinstalled.

Just a quick update if anyone ever runs into this problem. One of my co-workers tweaked the timeouts between our MGC and our VCON MXM gatekeeper and it took care of the errors. It seems we are right when we tell the network engineers that there is something drastically wrong with the IP network :devious:
