I think you can use device "Dazzle " which is a combination of harware & software and records the conference in various formats like .mpg1 or .mpg2

It also gives you option to edit the movie as well. We are using it in our organization and it is fantastic.

In 7.5 the unit sends out a Quicktime stream. Haven’t tried it yet but you may be able to capture the stream using either a pro version of the player or with a Quicktime streaming server. Let me know if you get this to work :)

I was also looking for a solution to record from a TANDBERG 880. I can stream from the 880 to a QTSS then to any web client, but I can't record. I tried using VLC (vlc.org), but it would stop after 5 seconds or so.

You can record, archive and stream from the Codian IP VCR. Nice product and easy to use. Please feel free to contact me if you have more questions.

Instead of trying to capture a live stream, I just record the session on a VCR at the location. Then I play it back on a VCR connected to a Dazzle device and my PC to capture it. It just adds one step and only cost about $100.00 or so and works very well. I think anyway.

There has to be some piece of software somewhere that records an RTp/H.261 stream. Somebody here must have done it.

Hi,

I am selling a lightly used content encoder made by VSGi. You can hook this up to your VSX 7000 and encode windows media files. The encoder is $5K new, but I am planning on selling it for far less than that. If you have any interest, you can check out the product here:

http://www.vsgi.com/shop/streaming.html

Scroll down to the Starback Create CEA machine.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Here's an alternative....

ECTUS Media is a server-based solution that captures h.323 calls (video, audio, & slides) and streams real-time at 56K to 384K to WMP, Real, or QuickTime users. Real-time viewers can take advantage of a robust suite of built-in colaborative tools (text messaging, polling, and more) to communicate with the presenter (and have their questions and comments captured in the "stream" too)

The twist is that the asynchronous (on-demand) viewing capabilities still give "registered users" the opportunity to pause & post messages back to the owner of the content. In turn, the owner can reply and the user will be notified (asynchronous bi-directional collaboration). Then, subsequent viewers benefit from the original content PLUS the question and comment threads that are posted generally or by topic.

Elevator pitch: ECTUS Media is only solution, that I have found, to incorporate the key elements of videoconferencing, streaming and collaborative tools, synchrously and asynchronously, with bi-directional collaboration.

ROSCOR Corporation has taken taken the lead in North America as the first reseller partner. We intend serve as a Master VAR supporting other key resellers outside of our existing operating area.

Feel free to contact me for more information. Chris Otten - cotten@roscor.com or 847-299-8080 ext. 1355 (or visit http://www.ectus.net for more product detail)

Install a capture card on your PC (Osprey 200) and connect the VCR audio/video out to the card. Install windows media encoder{free download} and begin encoding the sessions. You can set the sessions up for broadcast, save to file, or both. You can then edit the .wmv file if you need to.
