I have work with PCS-1 and almost all its add-ons.
PROs
XGA display output
superb camera both video quality and PTZ system (extra quiet)
enhanced external interfaces:
USB for mimio electronic whiteboard
propietary to PCS-DSB1 (external box with interface to PCs XGA display output & additional audio/video I/O)
Its propietary QoS algorithms work more than fine and in my opinion better than Polycom's Error Concealment... I have tried this on a parallel scenario.
External Speaker & mic array: CTE 600, the only accesory I haven't try
Excellente performance on the MCU IP, ISDN or mixed.
support of ITU compliant H.264, H.239
CONs
have some problems on the echo cancellation, Sony announced a new firmware 2.3 that is meant to fix this problem

I had, and still have, some problems connecting the PCS-1 to legacy equipment, and even with a ViewStation 512 with 7.5.x software running. It works beautifully with the vendor's PCS-1, so the end-user thinks its the other equipment, but they work with everything else...I don't think it plays well with others.

I think Sony is still working on the H.239 implementation.
It seems to change from one version to another, I'm really
curious to see if it interops.
Any experience here?

well H239 certainly doesn't work with Polycom equipment, and I don't think it works with Tandberg either.
