Does anyone know how to map an ISDN number from the 3540 to the MGC? The 3540 has the following: 1. IVR enable (recieve prompt to enter number followed by a #). 2. TCS4 enabled. 3. Registered to the local GK. TThe MGC has the following: 1. One H.323 card (Only card in the box) 2. card is registered to GK.
The MGC can dial out via H.320 but can not dial back in?

The best way to do this when dialling into a 3540 gateway from ISDN from an MCU is to use the TCS4 method of call resolution.

To do this, you dial the ISDN number of the 3540 and the E.164 number of the endpoint you want to connect to separated by the TCS4 delimiter (this will either be the # or the * symbol, I can't remember which).

Once the gateway answers the call, the MCU passes the digits after this prefix to the gateway and the gateway then checks these digits against the gatekeeper. If an endpoint is registered with this E.164 number, your call will go through.

The only other way to do it from an MCU is to connect an endpoint into your conference first. The endpoint must be able to generate DTMF tones (I don't know of any MCU that can generate its own DTMF tones). Once you have connected your endpoint, dial the gateway. Then dial the E.164 number of the H.323 system using DTMF tones, ensuring you use the # key to finish. This will then put your call through.

Polycom should be able to offer you further assistance on dialling TCS4 extensions if you still struggle.
