Hello can anybody help me??

We have VSX7000 ver. 7 and iPower Ver. 6, I just installed an MGC-25 IP12 and Pathnavigator.

1st issue: If I am not using the Pathnavigator, I cannot make a Dial In for the endpoints. What I am doing is just configure one conference inside the MGC-25 and the endpoint will dial the MGC IP Address,,,, some of the VSX is working (about 3 out of 5) and the IpOwer is not connecting at all. But using the Pathnavigator I don't have any problem dialing in.

2nd issue: If I make a Software CP conference with 384 BW, call connects and I can see all participant connected, however after sometime, the screen on all the site shows a blue screen, just like the endpoints had been disconnected, and then pop-up one by one.... it is very annoying! I have tried to change the Speed and Duplex of both the Switch and the MGC, but I could'nt get the right configuration. If somebody out there who have experience this please..please help!!!

I hope somebody can help me!!

Regards,

Jonathan

On your first issue, are you removing the gatekeeper information from all your endpoints and the MGC before placing the call?

Gannan,

Thanks for the reply, Yes! Gatekeeper is not configured in all of the endpoints.

Check the configuration of PathNavigator, by default it will deny all calls from rouge endpoints. BTW a rogue endpoint is an endpoint that is not registered with the gatekeeper.

It sounds like your second issue is the result of packet loss between the endpoints and the bridge. The next time this occurs look in MGC manager to see if any of the endpoints are showing secondary connection status. What I expect you will see is that there is enough packet loss between the endpoints and the MGC to cause the bridge to drop to audio only (secondary connection) with some of your endpoints. If this is indeed the problem you might try making the call at a lower rate or running a hardware cp conference.

As for you question about duplex and speed settings ideally you would want to run at 100 full. My bridge and switch are both set to auto with no problems but many users seem to have to hard code the bridge and switch.

Our organisation uses Ploycom MCU 100 & SP 384 EndPoints. Our multipoint H.323 @384kbps call involving more then 40 location faces a problem where few location start showing blue screen intermittently. The status shows VIDEO OUT 0 at all these locations & faulty connection. this is not a problem for Point to Point H.323 Conference.

We are not using any Gatekeeper as of now, there was no conjestion at the network side, We have two IP card and Video+ cards & are using Polycom software ver 6.01

I am sure someone can suggest me something......

I have 2 MGC 100s and we discovered a problem with version 6.01. There was some type of h.323 "memory leak". The bridge would receive packets from the endpoint, but the bridge would not send any video out to the endpoint. We are currently running ver. 6.02.4 with no issues. We found the problem in mixed ISDN/IP calls hard set at h.261, cif, 30 f/s. Hope this helps.

Hello Guys,

We have resolved this problem with Path Navigator and the MGC Blue Screen. I am posting our resolution to help somebody in the future:

1. Pathnavigator should be configured as direct not routed, so as to use the internal multipoint of the iPower Systems.

2. Blue Screen is caused by Packet Loss, make sure that all of the endpoints has acceptable packet loss, then again make sure that version running is should be atleast 6.03.
