I just noticed we have over 700 members here at VTCTalk.com!

Most sites of this kind take years to gain that many members so we're not doing bad at all. :classic:

25,772 memebers would be juuuust great, but unfortunately that's just the thread count :classic: For now we'll have to live with "only" 2907 members - but that's quite ok I think..

Wonder how many Audio/Video Teleconferencing Systems Engineers (to use the proper expression hehe) there is world wide :ponder:

Makes me wonder... How many Audio/Video Teleconference Engineers does it take to screw in a lightbulb? :nervous:

But, seriously, thank you for this excellent forum to seek guidance and assistance. In my (just over) two years on the job, you all have helped me tremendously.

:embarrass...guess I made like the chimps on that commercial and was celebrating an upside down progress chart! :cross-eye I'll be sitting quietly in the corner wearing my pointed hat...

Very impressive. Unfortunately very few Japanese participants as most of them are shy in posting their opinions etc... on a public messageboard.

Hmm... that's too bad. We definitely don't want anybody to be shy around here!
Maybe we should make an attempt to "market our self" a little more in Japan - and other Asian regions maybe.. Or perhaps there already is a big Japanese VTC site..? Keisuke, do you know if there exist any Japanese VTC sites - in Japanese I mean? ..just curious :glasses:

There may be a closed one but not a publicly open one. Whatever topic it may be, Japanese are shy in any kind of such messageboard. I do not know other Asians. Asia is diversified in terms of culture, language, etc.. even though they all look same.

Well, at least we've got one here who isn't too shy ;) Anyway Keisuke, you know where to send your colleagues if they are looking for an online VTC forum..

I think messageboard like VTCTALK is a very good thing for conferencing industry as a whole as it create "information magnetic field". It plays a role in attracting more people, investment, business, technology, etc.. to grow this industry. If people want to know something about conferencing, people can come here and learn something, this is a very good thing. We do not have this public information magnetic field in Japan as far as conferencing is concerned.
I have mentioned about his VTCTALK to my friends in Japan, but unfortunately some Japanese are not good at English. This is one of reasons why they do not come to this kind of forum.

I am adding a link to VCTALK.com on the VC resources page at the website for the LinkedIn Group: Videoconferencing Professionals - which now has over 1,800+ members since going live on March 13, 2008.

Anyone involved with videoconferencing (resellers, manufacturers, consultants, and end-users - just no recruiters..) is invited to join! Here is the link: http://www.linkedin.com/e/gis/70717/3B901D733518
