We are having a lot of trouble trying to control a visual concert FX using a crestron CP2 processor. It seems that the only way to be sure that the PC will be displayed is to physically press play (sometimes twice) on the actual Concert FX unit.
Has anyone else actually managed to succesfully integrate this device using a control system? I am not a programmer but thought I would investigate the fault on the programmers behalf.
Thanks in advance for any tips!

Hey Nick
I just had a job where the programmer added the code to control the Visual Concert FX. It will send the computer signal but it's also sending the wrong people video with it as well. I think that will be a simple program fix but I personally can't say I am a big fan of this box. At least on the 8000 it's a standard VGA input but I hear the control code still isn't rock solid.
Take care

Make sure that you use the dedicated serial commands when controlling any Polycom products. I’ve heard of a lot of problems with integrations where the programmer used the button push commands. So on this issue rather than pushing “button slides” you should use “vcbutton start” / “vcbutton stop”. Another nice thing to do is to use “vcbutton register” / “vcstream register” and which will allow you to monitor the content button status and content stream status. If you would like to see the full list of commands type help at the telnet prompt.

Thanks for the advice guys - I will pass on the info re using the dedicated serial commands and aslo the telnet list of commands could be very useful.
It just seems so much more difficult to share data using a polycom than using a tandberg system.
Cheers,
Nick
