Hi,

We bought a VSX 7000 a few months ago and are now looking at sticking it on a trolley with a plasma screen. We're going to get a Unicol trolley but was wondering if anyone has any recommendations about what plasma screen to get. We're looking for a 42" in the region of £2500.

thanks

I am fairly certain the VSX7000 cannot use XGA as the main monitor. So your plasma will need to be in composite or S-Video mode.

I always found the NEC plasmas to be reliable although Im not sure if you could pick up a 42" for 2500 as Im no longer living in the UK.

Also I always found SMS stands to be much more aesthetically pleasing than unicol and easier to move around if it has to be mobile.

Plasma on VSX700 can only be connected with the primary dislay souce ( A/V or S-Video)
XGA is for the secondary display.
You would always need to connect some thing to the primary.
for the People + Content presentation.

But S-Vdieo is not bad afterall.

Agreed, S-Video is good until you receive a PC presentation. Remember, not all systems support H.239 so receiving XGA on the main (single) stream happens more than you expect.

For looks / cost go with the Samsung 42" plasma with the avecta range of plasma stands from Unicol Engineering. Looks very nice with the ensemble all in silver.

Worth noting about the resolution support though. If you're looking to do presentations in your meetings you'll be best advised to go with a dual monitor set up with a visual concert VSX outputting to the 2nd monitor if you want to stick with polycom as your vendor.
