View Full Version : Mac OS based system that uses H.323?
Hi,
I know this is a long shot, and I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but just in case .... does anyone know of a Mac-based Video conferencing system that uses H.323 protocol? In other words, is there something along the lines of Via Video or ViGO that runs off of Mac OS? Many thanks.

MDR-
This was a tuffy!!! I spent some time looking out over the web and the only thing I could find that was H323 compatible was at http://xmeeting.sourceforge.net and it looks pretty experimental. It also is NOT a hardware codec-just software for a camera.
It has always been the case with Mac--there just is not enough call for it for developers to make a go of it. Good luck

We run Macs, as we are an educational company, and I have been testing Xmeeting for several months now. So far, apart from it not displaying H.239 content, it's good for being free (using the built-in Mac camera it gets a little choppy with motion, especially at 384k, but not bad for the price, right?). I am looking forward to a more complete release, but no word yet that I've found.
