Just curious as to whether or not there is anyone else out there as weird as me. Anyone who's into telecom and happens to know enough about websites to put one up?

If you have one, post a link here :)

George,
I have had a personal website for years and years...I developed it for the family to look at my kids and to post my R/C pictures. It is pretty rudimentary, but it has allowed me to learn the fundamentals of website building. http://pbraatelien.home.mindspring.com/paul.htm

I have just recently bought a domain name and some hosted space. In the process of getting mine together. I'm a complete newbie here, but it's a lot of fun. Like Paul, I'm using mine primarily to post pics...
If any of you have links to sites with great scripts and webart, it would be greatly appreciated!!

Well Hotscripts by far is THE leading place on the net to go to get scripts of any kind. PHP, CGI/Perl, Free/Non-free. I also write custom scripts myself. Post what you're looking to do here and either I or maybe someone else here with hidden talent can help you. I'm pretty proficient with PHP/MySQL and of course HTML. As you can see from the site design here I dabble in graphics a little.

Let us know!

I'm still trying to get my webby going. Aside from not having much time, I still have to learn how to do everything. Any of you know any good sites and info sources on learning how to author a good page and to create some nice art? What do you guys prefer using to author pages? I've been looking at Macromedia Dreamweaver.
Thanks in advance...

Toney,

Are you looking to actually learn HTML and graphics or just the bare minimum you need to knwo to get a page up? Meanign are you only wanting to focus on HTML editors like Dremweaver, Fireworks, etc. or do you eventually want to do your own HTML?

I like Dreamweaver a lot, however, I think it helps to have the basics of HTML down when you start. This site is a great walk through tutorial that got me started...

and this site is a great reference for HTML.... http://www.idocs.com

To make cool looking websites, you need more than an HTML editor, you need something that will do graphics like Dreamweaver Fireworks or Photoshop.

I've been working on a site for my hobby outside of videoconferencing. Woodworking keeps everything else in perspective. Please take a look at my site and tell me what you think. It is a little primitive right now but I plan on reworking it for a smoother flow and navigation

Looks fine :)

If you, like me, get tired of struggling with the layout design etc, I can recommend http://www.oswd.org/. Some really nice (and free) designs templates here ;)
