Hello,
I currently have a Parkervision Instructor camera and I plan to upgrade to an S-Video compatible camera. I would prefer to go with another manufacter other than Parkervision. Please advise.

Try these:
Sony EVI-D100 (http://bssc.sel.sony.com/Professional/webapp/ModelInfo?m=0&sm=0&p=2&sp=14&id=63134)
Canon VC-C4 (http://www.canondv.com/vcc4/index.html)
or for more of a Parkervision type solution check out:

Also the EVI-D70 is worth looking at compared to EVI-D100.
EVI-D70 can be ceiling mounted, has a greater pan, tilt range and 18x optical zoom (the EVI-D100 is not ceiling mountable and only has a 10x optical zoom). The EVI-D70 is about the same price as the EVI-D100.
However, the EVI-D100 has a wider angle view, 65 degree versus 48 degree. For this reason in conference room/audience shots the EVI-D100 might be preferrable.

We use the EVI-D30 which can be wall mounted or placed on a flat surface.

Is there any newer system that has replaced Cameraman? I have a few locations looking to put in newer camera sytems with a Polycom 4000.

The Canon VC-C4 is available in a ceiling mount version too called VC-C4R . Similar difference to the table/wall model as with D-70 vs D30/31/100 (270 degree pan!).
There are different opinions about where the cam should be placed.
Ergonomically speaking the top-position is best except of very large projections. Ceiling cams may be used as good for wall mounting as the set-top models. Carefully check wide angle and coverage of pan and tilt to choose your model.
Some other aspect to weight the different cams:
Beside viewing angles, we found major differences in a PTZ-cam contest (Tandberg´s cam included also) in performance under non-ideal illumination (mixed/changing sun/bulb/tube-light). There are remarkable differences in the quality of auto-white-balance. Some cams are able to switch to manual white-balance and NEED this to reach other´s reproduction. Check it with respect to your PLCM4k backlight function.

I think you may be mistaken about the ceiling mounting of the EVI-D100. We have the EVI-D100 hanging upside down in a number of installations. Settings are changed via the dip switches from memory.

Do you want the new camera to track the user, similar to what the Parkervisions do?
Take care

The models listed above are all good. But I think it would depend if you are refering to your Cameraman instructor or student camera, since you may be talking about interacting with the PTT microphones and/ or tracking.
