I just purchased XBOX Live last week. Having a blast playing various games. I'm impressed with the smooth gameplay and player matching features. Does anyone here have Live?

Welcome to the forums stungib! Have you played Halo yet? I am a PC gamer myself. Actually I can't really say I'm a "gamer" because I only play 1 game and that's Halo. I'm curious to see, from a XBoxer's perspective what you think of Halo or any other shooter.

Never played Halo, however. Nor do I have an XBOX. I play NWN mostly and some Medal of Honor.

Yes, I bought Halo when I bought my Xbox. It's a great game and really shows off what the xbox can do. Halo for xbox isn't Live compatible though. In November Halo 2 is coming out and that is XBOX live compatible.

I like FP Shooters. I have Unreal Championship and Medal of Honor: Frontline.

A great game for online play is Crimson Skies. Its a air-pirate 30's style shoot-em-up. Very cool graphics and gameplay.

Well well, we're all coming out of the woodwork now. I'm an XBOX liver too. But I actually prefer online PC games. If you guys are into FPS's, try America's Army Operations. It's one of the best and most realistic shooters I've seen and it's completely free!!

Any of you guys play the Half-Life mods? I am part of a DOD clan, http://yis-clan.yis.us, I go by [YIS]Jules, and usually Jules anywhere else online.

Don't have an Xbox, but my bro-in-law does, Halo is awesome. The pc version of Halo looks good too....

BF1942, never played it anywhere but at LAN parties, but it's a cool game too...

So, back to my original Q, any Half-Lifers here?:D

I've tried AA but I was turned off by the boot camp target shooting phase. I was always 1 to 2 seconds behind finishing the targets on time. Very frustrating, so I gave it up. Interesting that you prefer PC games online vice XBLive. Is that because of the PC controls for FPS, or what? Is there PC games that have voice support?

Sorry, no. But if you've seen Halo, check out Halo 2 coming in November! HL2 is due out this year as well, right?

Pretty sure UT2004 has voice support out of the box.

All games can have voice support. There are several programs that allow you to run a voice server - the two most popular are TeamSpeak and Roger Wilco.

Serious Gamer here! I have two PC's built specialy for gameing (moded with lights and all) one of them is for guests :D

I run a few Natural Selection and Counter Strike servers.

If you are looking for a good fps co-op game you sould try NS out, it takes some time to learn it because there are a lot of "never seenbefor features" in it.

nobody uses Roger Wilco any more and Ventrilo is the best Voice program out there if you need boath quality and speed.

Hey George...guess I should have mentioned my Halo addiction in our recent conversation!! I can't wait for H2 to come out....having the best game ever and the ability to go live is going to be an entirely better experience. what is your xbox gamer tag?

Haha, yeah that's weird. Un-creatively enough my usual tag is USArmy or Qwest. I don't have an X-box. I perfer the keyboard and mouse thing.

Lately I've been lurking in the PC trial version server beating up on poor unsuspecting newbies. They are so suprised when those 3 pistol shots to the head drop em like flies. I've been accused of mod cheating more times than I can remember. So yeah I've already been doing the live thing so to speak since Halo PC came out.

Anyone into Call of Duty? I'm always looking for new maps both single player and multiplayer. Anyone with any ideas where to get quality maps?

I haven't gotten into CoD yet but I plan to. Halo consumes me right now and I'm trying to get the Urban Terror thing for Quake going.

I've played a little CoD online. The online experience, IMO, wasn't as immersive as the SP. The SP kicked okole!

If you like CoD, keep your eye out for Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault. You'll be able to go Prone like in CoD but in addition you'll be able to roll while you're prone!

Anyone ever tried Planetside? It's this cool MMOG FPS...with vehicles etc...massive battles sometimes...Excellent fun but needs subscription. One of my favs :)
