National Educational Computing Conference
June 20-23, 2004
New Orleans, LA
center.uoregon.edu/ISTE/NECC2004/ (http://center.uoregon.edu/ISTE/NECC2004/)
This year's conference has a strand (http://center.uoregon.edu/ISTE/NECC2004/program/search_results.php?selection_id=4730217) devoted to videoconferencing and its application in the school environment. Many zoos, aquariums and museums offer informal learning opportunities (so-called electronic field trips) to students and teachers using this medium. NECC is a pretty good place to find out about all this. Vendors (Tandberg, Polycom, etc.) are on the tradeshow floor. More about the application of the technology than the technology itself.
