Videoconference Career Path

I have been working with videoconferencing technology for a few years and I am trying to decide on taking the next step. What kind of companies are hiring VC techs and how important is the CVE? Are there any other certifications I should be looking at? I am currently the admin for my companies VC system but they are not looking for a dedicated vc tech so I am also doing help desk work. I have learned a lot in the last few years as we migrated from ISDN to an IP system. I am also working on upgrading from a cisco 3540 to a Codian 4210 (I am crossing my fingers that the approval from the upper ups goes through!) I just wanted to hear from others in this forum how to best pursue a more dedicated career path in VC technology.
