Polycom has posted the 7.5 software upgrade on their website. I haven't installed it yet but I noticed in the release notes that you need to obtain a "software key" before upgrading.

Good Luck

I had talked to Polycom tech support weeks ago and this should contain the fix for the ethernet hard-set issue so the ethernet interface does not have to be set to "Auto" to function with clean video.

Yup looks like 7.5 is the end of the free ride, such a pity. Other than that the P+C IP in this release is very nice. I’ve been using it on an Athlon 1800 (running at 1280*1024) and the speed/quality seems to be comparable or better than the external brick. I also really like the combined output on the VSX 8000.
As for the duplex issue, we typically leave our systems in auto so I can’t comment on whether that was fixed or not.

Does anyone have any issues with the VSX7000 systems not picking up an IP from a DHCP server? We seem to have to hard-code our IP's on these systems. Out of 6 systems, 2 get IP's, 4 don't. We tried them into the same ethernet plugs, etc... Alarms show 'No IP Activity' but we get activity lights on the interface plug in on the rear of the unit and when we hard-code the IP's, it works fine...

I use DHCP all the time with both the campus DHCP server (UNIX) and several SOHO routers (Linksys, Netgear, Buffalo Tech). Are you dynamically assigning the IPs or are you using a static configuration in the server? I know our campus server will not correctly match up a static entry when the client is a Red Hat box. Basically the server doesn’t correctly see the hardware address of the Red Hat machine and it gets a pooled address rather than the address that’s been assigned to it in the server’s table.
