Hi, I am setting up a vtc studio for up to 6 participants with Tandberg 880 E2 mainly for distance learning.
Can you advice on what display / screen will work best with this system? I heard a couple of sonys 28" 100hz tv is used a lot, but what about a larger screen, widescreen, HD or maybe plasma?

We have 50 880's in almost every conviable configuration and even though the best cables we've used have been old s-video, the image has been great for the most part. I would avoid 16x9 screens however, unless you plan on getting an MXP one day. HD would be overkill too.
My personal favorite display is a basic 4x3 Pionner (I think) plasma. It's a few years old and I doubt they make them, but it looks great, takes up no space and is quiet.

turbo, Think you should follow Morgan81 (at least in part) and go with MXP to take advantage of the latest compression/display technology. We are deploying the Zenith 60" plasma display's with very satifactory results. I feel the dual monitor concept was great in the past, but with the latest pixel mapping technology, you can take advantage of dual displays with a single display device. Now, If your serious about this project, check compatability real time from the showroom floor before you commit.

What about camera image burnin on those Plasma screens? I have wanted to try them but am scared of damage to the screens from burnin.

The MXPs have a built in sleep timer and if the monitor uses a compatible EDID, the MXP should put the monitor to sleep too (not just black out the screen).

Any display is going to have pitfalls. Just think about what will be the biggest problem once you buy something. If that you're not going to have any space, go with the plasma, if money and service is the issue, go with a 32" CRT ect. Pretty much any kind of codec you go with has enough outputs where it can handle any type of display.
After getting my hands on a 880 mxp however, I would really have to say that if you really care about image quailty or 16x9 resoulutions to check it out. DVI outputs are a very nice touch.
