I got a question
Can you use the polycom PVX through an MCU without having a camera attached to your machine for monitoring purposes. Polycom seems to say you can but we're having trouble doing it.
Thanx ppl

What sort of MCU are you calling into.. I've tested my PVX with no camera into Codian and Polycom (MGC) with no issues...

well you can use fixed port on the PVX so with a little bit of beging you might get you IT to open a few ports 8)
OK guys, so can someone explain how to use the PVX without a cam and going thru an MCU 100?

are you connecting at all? or connecting and getting no incoming video? You need to be more specific in how you are failing and what the MCU shows for your connection when you fail

I guess you can use Show Desktop only in conference with endpoints capable of People+Content (or H.239 from PVX version 8 up).

i have the evaluation copy of PVX 8 and works without usb camera attached on my laptop. Sending PC to the endpoint is working without problem, i can able to join to the internal MCU as well.
i have a little favor for you guys, does anyone can give me license for my eval copy to prevent the 5mins limit call.
thank you in advance.

You will need to purchase this from Polycom as this is how they make their money.

If your Pix firewall is configured correctly it will work OK!

If you still have firewall traversal problems with the PVX, then H.460.18/19 is probably what you need.
