My name is Larry Keyes. I'm an independent consultant currently working on a telemedicine project for home-based exercise classes for senior patients. We currently are using Polycom Viewstation EX's with D-Link endpoints over H.323 and are getting good results, but also some surprises..(I'll post those over in the technical forums :depressed )

I started about 1997 with a 4 node ISDN-based project using Intel ProShare units, and built a stripped down user interface with the ProShare Visual Basic Developer's kit. Currently I'm looking to do a similar endpoint interface that will allow control of the endpoint from a central point...and obviate the need for the enduser or patient to have to do anything except turn the endpoint, and their TV on.

I spent nine years at the University of Vermont, the last couple as a manager of instructional (desktop) technology in our Distance Learning division. Since '98 I have been on my own, doing network management, software development, and now this VTC integration project. I'm especially interested in learning more about API's, and software libraries for existing hardware, as well as integrating VTC with Linux and Windows embedded systems. Oh and throw in IP videoconferencing and SIP as well.

I'm delighted to have found this forum, and I hope I'll be able to contribute back at least fraction of what I expect to learn here.
