I posted this in another thread, but since it was a little off-topic I'll post it here as well.
I upgraded an 880 MXP from F1.4 to F2.1 yesterday with very poor results.
It wouldn't load right into TMS 8, I couldn't access it over the web the right way (all the tabs never appeared). It worked ok, connections were fine over ISDN, but we could not remotly monitor it at all. I FTP'd into it and downgraded it to F1.5 and everything is smooth now.
I opened a ticket and asked they submit it as a bug but I hope it was just my one unit, since I know a bunch more 880s are on their way to my world real soon.
Anyone else running F2.x found anything similar?

Hi,
Another problem with F2.1, when i connect and choose the PC it is not getting the 5+1 view with the far end in the centre (like it does on the F1.x software), local view and PC in a quadrant on the right, Picture Outside Picture is selected and dual screen is off (single plasma setup). I am getting a side by side view of the far end and the PC, i can't see myself, according to previous experience with the MXP (and the MXP user manual) this should not happen?
Also, i had a 3 way MCU call going from the T990 MXP
One codec is a T990 Classic running on E3.0.
The other codec was an old PictureTel (not sure what model).
When i sent the PC it rebooted my codec (T990 Classic) and killed the PictureTel (didn't come backup), the MXP was fine, it didn't reboot.
Looks like a bug in the way the MXP (F2.1) sends Duo Video in a Multisite call?
Both of the above has been logged with TANDBERG

Hi Morgan,
Not sure what "wouldn't load right into TMS 8" means...can you clarify?
Also, if you are saying the web interface of the codec didn't load properly (tabs didnt appear), can you tell me what version of IE you are running? I have heard this from two other people and both were running IE that was not up to date.

I'm running IE v6.0 w/ SP1.
What I mean by wouldn't load right is that when I upgraded at first and tried to access the unit, it gave me the not responding screen and the "system is not responding to FTP requests" error. As I stated I was able to access the system fine through FTP, but forcing a refresh did nothing as well.
After that I purged it and reloaded it into TMS but it came back as unknown and would not pick up any system details (system type, serial number, etc.), it was if I put in an incorrect IP address.
As soon as I downgraded the F1.5 however I forced a refresh again and it loaded as normal with all information correct.
Feel free to PM me if you need anything else.

They were both running IE with SP1 (and a few other different hot fixes). I am running SP2 and haven't seen this situation. We just upgraded 200+ units the other day through TMS and again didn't see the situation you described.
Have you tried upgrading your IE? If you feel inclined, I would be interested to know it that fixed the issue.

I upgraded 2 units today too F2.2 and one of my customers upgraded his unit to F2.2... all 3 units has this problem...
I will check which version of the IE they are running... BUT I can not and will not demand from our customers to upgrade the web-browsers to get this to work. TANDBERG has to fix this ASAP.

I just recieved a loaner running F2.1 and the tabs appear, but many times I just receive an "Under Construction" page. I then have to telnet to it and turn "access" on, afterwhich it works fine.
It seems like F2.x is a little on the buggy side. Is there going to be a dot release soon?

IE is not working for me also with F2.1. I don't mind upgrading. Firefox works great. However, Firefox does not work with TMS. It would be nice if it did since a lot of customers are switching to Firefox.

Have you tried 'refresh' in IE? Its possible your cache is causing this?

I am not recommending you upgrade IE for TANDBERG. I have upgraded IE because of serious security issues from Microsoft.
It could be possible that there are changes to the web interface on the codec and the cache on your PC needs to be refreshed.

if you get 'under construction' pages.. you have issues. That's not the codec. Could just be your browser giving you crappy error pages instead of the rear error pages (I always hated that 'feature' of IE.. 'page can not be displayed' instead of the real http errors)
Do a delete of your cache.. I think the old hold option while clicking refresh.. or I think its 'control-r' in IE can do a forced refresh of just that one page. Or just open your internet control panel and delete your cache.
Hitting 'refresh' in the toolbar alone does NOT flush the cache. This is probably why your loaner works and not the old ones.. new website to your PC.
and to your TMS question above.. try using TMS9 on your mxp codecs. tms 8 was before MXP was around.

I've tried clearing the cache multiple times, with the same result. And the loaner is having the problem, not the older ones.

Hi,
I upgrade Tandberg 880 MXP system from 1.7 version to the F2.2 version and I tried to connect to the IP demo sites on the internet with NAT configuration. It was not successfull connection. I couldn't received video and audio. I installed again the F1.7 version and with the same configuration I could connect to the IP demo sites without problem. May be the reason was from my system or from the new software. I don't know. I informed Tandberg about the problem and I am sure they will solve this problem. Because It works with F1.7:)
Best Regards.

check your firewall and port settings. do you have specific ports forwarded or all ports?

But on the previous page...
I just recieved a loaner running F2.1 and the tabs appear
So which is it?
I'm telling your the 'page under construction' thing isn't your codec. Do a sniff if you really think otherwise
