Excuse the dumb question but can anyone explain why in a mixed serial and IP conference with Tandberg & Polycom codecs, the chair/floor control does not work? The Tandberg will reply "not connected to Multipoint Control Unit". The serial codecs work fine with chair/floor functions but can't see the IP users. Is this a H.243 to H.320 anomoly? I have not yet been to Polycom U for formal training just OJT bits 'n pieces. I believe I've researched all the MCU threads but don't believe I've seen this adressed.

Thanks for any insight...

For clarification, you are asking about an Accord conference combining IP and V.35 and the endpoints requesting the floor are TANDBERG and Polycom endpoints?

If so, thats a question to ask of Polycom about the Accord.

does the functionality work on both networks seperately? I don't know if the accord does chaircontrol on IP

I setup two seperate conferences (IP & V.35) and chair control only works in the V.35 session using H.243 I believe. Our MCU uses version 6.03.2 which I'm guessing does not utilize H245 for chair control during IP conferences. I'll contiue to dink with it a wait anxiously for 7.0 like the rest of the world. Thank you guys for the replies...

The State of South Dakota is moving from H.320 to H.323 using Accord Polycom MCG100. We have just been informed by Polycom help desk?? that chair control is:

"Many thanks for your interest in the Polycom products and in particular the
MGC. We have noted your feature request and will consider it for future versions. Thanks again, Boaz"

Not exactly helpful!
