I have an end user that is having issues with a 900. After a couple of days where the system is on the screen becomes "messed up". Essentially, the Windows Task bar ends up at the top of the screen, the picture appears to have rolled up the screen. An instant reboot cures this and it is then fine for another couple of days. There is an ImageShare connected to the system and a VCR. The display is an NEC plasma.

We have swapped out the PC unit and had the system on soak at our office where the unit ran without falling for over 2 weeks straight. So far I have have not been able to replicate the issue that the customer is having.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Polycom have no ideas and I have run out myself?

Yupp,

I've had this on some systems.. on one in particular.. and I can't get rid of it :(

I have the same experience as you, Polycom say that they never seen it before (But they say that about all the problems).

I have no ideas what could cause this, I've tried everuything, swapped codec, reinstalled the software numerous times, new harddisk, Scheduled reboot once a day and so on... nothing has helped. :(

IF you find a solution, plaese post it here!

Have you tried resetting the monitor to see if it is the monitor having a vertical refresh problem? I have never been a fan of NEC monitors, CRT, LCD or otherwise. They have given us problems before... When you brought it back to the office, was the monitor with it?

I have seen an issue that sounds similar to this but many moons ago. To resolve it we did the following:

1 Re boot the system and hit Del as soon as the operating system is
displayed. This will bring you to the AMIBIOS setup utility.
2 Use the right arrow key to highlight the advanced section.
3 Use the down arrow key to highlight the Advance chipset function. Hit
enter
4 Use the down arrow key to highlight the SDRAM RAS# to CAS# delay. Hit
Enter.
5 Use up arrow key to highlight 3 SCLK. Hit enter.
6 ESC to go back to the Advanced menu
7 F10 to save and exit.

Have fun and hope it fixes your problem!

Okay, a little more info. The video overlay is fine. However, the iPower interface is essentially blank - buttons have no names on them ro are garbage. You can alt-tab to the desktop, but this is essentially frozen and messed up. The Start button is on the upper lefthand corner.

We tried changing monitors and the problem shifts, so any monitor issue is definately out.
