After exactly ten minutes of videoconferencing, Polycom PVX crashes and the entire internet connection is lost until the PC and the modem are both rebooted. Has any one seen something similar? Any advice?
The PC is a 3.2GHz Dell 4700C with 1GB of RAM. The modem/router is a 2Wire 1000SW connected to a Verizon ADSL broadband service.

Yep, been there, done that...
It's a bad copy of the H.323 Alg in the 2wire box. I was their test bed for new software. I would see if tech support can upgrade you to 3.7.1 (or so)..
I've been working this problem with 2Wire for more than 2 years.
BTW, does it lock the 2Wire box solid ? (it did on the 5 2wire boxes I have)..
Good Luck,

Gary, thanks a million for identifying the problem!
The 2Wire box is indeed locked solid after the crash - dead-in-the-water until being power cycled. The software on the 1000SW is only version 3.5, which may be the latest version supported by this 5 year-old box. Looks like we will need to upgrade to a new box to get the 3.7 software and resolve the problem.

I'm running one of the 1800's here.. They send me new boxes every so often to test. This one has all the usual plus .g wireless. Works great at this point (6 months in use).
I'd call tech support and see what they have to offer. Even though the box is old, it certainly can be upgraded...
BTW, if you need to, you can use my name, it should show up in some of the tech support logs about this issue. (I have direct contacts too, if you run into a brick wall.)
