Hi,
Been having some problems with our MXP codecs in that when we connect laptops to them using the standard 5 Metre DVI - VGA (HD15) we often have problems.
When I use my own Toshiba Laptop it works first time everytime, when I use another it fails everytime (Sony Viao PCG-981M), with another Sony Viao I have used it fails most times but when you go into the graphics card properties and enable dual screen with the second monitor being set to extend the desktop it works!
Has anyone else experienced this problems and is there anyway around this?
Thanks in advance!

With most of the laptops I have used on Tandbergs, I had to enable the VGA output on the back by going to display properties. I typically set it to clone at 800x600 or 1024x768. I ususally prefer 800x600 for conference rooms so that the participants have an easier time reading the text on screen.

I'm fairly competent with this kind of thing but the problem has only reared its head since we introduced the MXP models as, like I said, these laptops worked perfectly with the classic 880's we had!
It must be something different about the MXP in that it is more sensitive to its VGA inputs, I wonder if its linked to the fact its now a shared DVI/VGA input and not a solely VGA?
Thanks

I don't know if this related, but DVI inputs on MXPs have sync issues. You can buy 3rd party sync emulator and have it installed, so that the codec will always see the signal present. In my installation, I run DVI over 300' (using extenders, of course).

That sound slike the issue we're having as I knoiw different laptops have slightly different sync values.
How much are there and where can they be bought?

have you tried checking the resolution/refresh rate that the units are configured to use? its possible they are using a combination the unit doesn't support.
