Hello,

We'd like to build a multipoint videoconferencing system on local LAN for 20 workplaces each equipped with webcamera and headset. Requirements are possibility for all (20 or at least 16) participants to see/hear all other participants at the same time and possibility to record (archive) video/audio streams.

Sure it could be done with dedicated hardware (MCU), but dedicated hardware is quite expensive. Meanwhile PCs are becomming more and more powerfull and less costly. There are software only solutions as Maratech or Click to Meet and they seems to be less expensive than hardware implementations.

Has anyone experience with theese or other software only solutions?
Or should I go with hardware MCUs to meet the above mentioned requirements?
