Hello all, I am new to the forum and would like to assistance in trying to determine how to request an additional number on an existing PRI line. They currently have a Tandberg 6000 (legacy not MXP) and I added another using a PRO crossover cable. Both systems can dial out with no problem but now I have been asked if it is possible to add an additional phone number. How would I go about this? I have called to Verizon many times and not gotten through so I thought I would post here as well.

Thanks,
Chandler

Chandler,

I don't have a PRI going to an endpoint but rather two PRI's going to my MCU... When I had them ordered, I asked to be given four additional "dial in" numbers for each simply as a means of giving a nuber to site to dial into our mcu...for our purposes. In your set up..I don't quite understand what the need or meaning of this second would be....The PRI is not seperated into lines per system as you state in your post of having ta crossover cable to allow the PRI to used tby the two units for dialing out. are you looking for a way to identify which system will be activated when a one of the two numbers is callled by a far site? I do not believe that is possible in your current set up and if that is the way you're considering on going with these systems, I believe your need in a bit more complicated to meet than just getting a second number on your existing PRI. Find out what the reasoning is behind this request and we can take it from there. Good Luck

you want to request additional 'DID numbers' for your circuit. DID = direct inward dial (or inbound.. forget). Then tell your second codec which PRI number it should answer.

Verizon knows what they are.. if not.. demand to talk to someone else at Verizon. Multiple numbers on a PRI is as regular as vannilla ice cream.
