Positioning the Camera

Just a quick question for you folks. I have always felt that for VC installs the camera was best mounted above the screen. This always seems to ensure that the illusion of eye-to-eye contact was maintained. However, lately I have noticed more and more installs placing the camera below or even to the side of the screen.

What are the general thoughts on this. Anyone have any hard and fast evidence on the optimal position etc?

I try to put the camera above or below the screen, it depends on the hight of the screen.

If the users eye hight is above the middle of the monitor I put the camera on top but if its below I put under.
