I have gotten a few requests from customers on Readimanager and have used it internally myself. My question to you all is what is your opinion of it?
I personally feel it is too lightweight for users that are used to MGC Manager or GMS.
I also have a problem with it going down a lot-not good for mission critical applications.
Any responses?

Whoof,
No responses.
Well that is pretty much what I expected. I guess that is why they bundle the product with their bridges---cause they cannot sell it.

ouch
its also a brand new product. it takes time for it to get into people's hands..plus people here. If you aren't an interested buyer.. polycom isn't always beating down your door wanting to give you a demo unit :)

It looks good if your only doing internal calls with limited number of endpoints but if you whant to add guest sites to the manager the optins are very limited.
The problem is that when you scedule a meeting it does so on the RM it self and doesn't conntact the MGC untill the meeting starts and that meens it can't use it with Webcommander because they cant see each others reservations.
anyway I like the consept but I think it needs alot of work. Untill then Im sticking with webcommander

ReadiManager is basically PCS "lite" with GMS. For those who haven't seen PCS (that's Polycom Conference Suite), then RM will be a "new" product. Otherwise, and sorry to say this, but there really isn't anything new.
The entire PCS suite is 3 modules, but with RM you get just one, NAS - Network Aware Scheduler - the scheduling piece. And instead of the PCS Network Module (which is a rather intensive piece of s/w), Polycom integrated GMS into RM as the "network monitoring" piece. They say its ONE interface now, not two UI's, but the GMS portion is the same UI everyone is used to with a PCS header. whoa! The innovation is astounding.
Don't get me wrong here. I really don't mean to knock it. If you look at the guts - NAS is still a powerful scheduling package. But again, and like SkyLark mentioned, its not made for everyone.

Just some clarification here. In its current licencing release, ReadiManager will let you schedule upto 100 endpoints. I believe it was designed to be used for smaller organizations. I think Polycom intended the larger organizations OR service providers to choose PCS if they want more endpoint scheduling. However, I think they have now released a 200 license version of RM too.

The 'old' ReadiManger was limited to 100. I think this new version removes that limit. The 'new' ReadiManger seems more then the old RM released last year in terms of packaging and features. Just reading the datasheet they are listing ALOT more then what the old product did.
We aren't in the market for a management program tho, so I doubt I'll get my hands on it.

I visited Polycom in Slough yesterday to get an update on ReadiManager. Did not get my hands on the unit nor did they offer any technical spec's for the unit. Looks good though on first impressions.

Just had a look on Polycoms extranet to find tech spec's for the SE200 and they have nothing at all on the site.... I will investigate this as I would like to have the data for reference. Will post a URL once I have located the document.

Guys,
Found the files and put them on our site. It seems Polycom have not uploaded them to their site yet, so I guess I have done them a favour!!
