I have recently installed a VSX8000 (RS530 interface) that uses an Initia Intelligent Switch for access to a ISDN PRI. The system can be encrypted via a KIV-19A and A/B switches. The circuit path is extended via a pair of Eastern Research Video Service Units. My problem, the system will not answer and inbound call. Here's what has been tried:
1-All configurations checked ok (Initia, Codec and VSUs)
2-Can dial out as needed any data rate I select.
3-Bypassed encryption setup completely, same result. I get all the network but the system will not align and complete the call.
4-Software. Its running 7.5.2 the latest and have even done a clean reload.
Any suggestions?

use the lcds of the vsus to check the control lead status. You need to see a ring indicator and probably DSR before the unit will understand there is an incoming call. Having the control leads wrong can happen in many places.. I suggest you put the vsx at the initia unit first.. then start adding pieces in. thats the brute force, but most direct way to figure out which piece of gear is causing the issue.
