We have been trying to use some dial isolators from a company called Criticom for some time now. We are unable to get them to work interfacing between a Tandberg 6000 and either an Adtran 512 or the Initia switches. Does anyone use their product and can you provide any cabling pinouts and configuration settings?
Thanks

I can, email me at pzielie@vsig.net and I can send you documentation. You may need to adapt to the criticom pinout, I do not remember if Criticom uses DB 25 on the RS366 box. I will need to know what version software you have on the Tandberg. There is an issue between the ISU512 and Tandberg Codecs on the call hangup.

Moderator must really be asleep. I guess I'll chime in with my 2 cents.
haneyr - cabling/pinouts could be the issue here, but there are a number of other things to consider and troubleshoot. Dial Isolation installation is typically a no-brainer. There isn't anything to configure on them. Are you able to make a successful call without using them? Easiest troubleshooting is to perform a DI-bypass test. If pzielie didn't take of you - repost your issue with your symptoms and any test results - specify cable pn's if useing stock cables or if you made them, tandberg s/w rev, etc. I can't speculate on the answer without knowing more.
BTW - there are less expensive Dial Isolators on the market these days, and also more rackable chassis configurations available. Titan makes various Dial Isolator chassis. They also make one that supports both KIV and dial isolation within the same 1U chassis - which makes for a much cleaner solution (in my opinion). Just an FYI.
I think the moderator might be awake now.

Cabling a dial isolator is typically straight forward. When using a Criticom DI-366 dial isolator for connection between a Tandberg and an IMUX, you can take the 366 side of the Tandberg cable directly to the “CODEC” port of the Isolator. From the “IMUX” port of the isolator you would use a straight through DB-25 cable to the 366 port of the IMUX. If you need to extend the Tandberg 366 cable, just use a straight through DB-25. Shielded cables are to be used of course. On the Criticom DI-366 isolator the “IMUX” port is male and the “CODEC” port is female. I agree with ChuckF in the troubleshooting procedures.
ChuckF is also correct in stating there are other isolators on the market, however, to the best of my knowledge the Criticom dial isolator (DI-366) is the only one that is DISA JITC and TEMPEST certified. Please correct me if I am wrong.
For those who seek the certification documents for the Criticom ISEC-320, which include the DI-366 dial isolator, please see the link below.

I have about 22 sites installed using Tandberg 6000 / DI-366 / Adtran 512. All are operating fine, no problems. All are installed as suggested above, using the Tandberg PN 500013 or StoneWall cable PN SC-3123 (same thing). These also support the crypto resync pin you'll need.

I have 4 Sites using Criticom Equipment, 3 Mobile 1 Stationary. All work outstanding utilizing the dial isolator from Criticom. As mentioned cabling can be a factor if not given the correct ones.
If you dial out via front panel 512 Adtran vs 366 the config.for Adtran 512 IS TOTALLY DIFF. Learned this trial and error.
Contact Criticom if your not sure.

Good luck.
Because you are experiencing problems with both an Adtran and Initia, I'd focus on DTR. There is (was) a known problem with Dial Isolators / Initia, but AVS, CritiCom and Titan have all resolved that issue. It was never a problem with Adtrans.
My guess would be you need to turn on the DTR pulse (netdtrpulse on) option on your Tandberg. If you are able to make successful calls from the IMUX, you probably overrode DTR at the KIV. Turn off PTTR on the KIV and use DTR Options "2=Idle when Off" on the Adtran. This assumes you are passing all control leads in your Red and Black cable.
