curious.. how do you justify this expense to your boss? 'user group' stuff would get a good laugh from my boss.

Well in my case we normally send someone to most the standard shows, InfoComm, NAB, NSCA etc and he looks at it like any other show. The only difference being that since we are Polycom house it’s more focused on the specific products we use. I did have to convince him to spend the extra cost but, from my perspective unless you are a really big customer the PUG conference is your best chance to talk to the “right people” at Polycom. I’ve always been amazed at the level of access that you get at the conference.

Gary, it looks like I need to start bringing my camera to these events :)

I've never been to this conference, actually I just joined PUG this year. So what kind level of access do you mean? Technical side or sales side?

I would say it’s mostly members of product management and technical folks with very few sales people. A good example from last year was when I sat between the CEO and the manager of the VSX line at lunch.

I hope that I will be able to attend this year.
However, it would be wonderful if they could give international attendees some discount on the attendee fee as international attendees like me need to pay for international flight ticket to visit there.

I have decided to go this year to find out what is going to happen at the PUG conference.
I am wandering how PUG has played a role in strengthening Polycom's presence in the conferencing market and how Polycom itself is seeing PUG in that regard.

I will be there from Monday to Wednesday. I will be visiting Phoenix for the first time.

I am going back home tomorrow but the PUG conference was very interesting and I enjoyed it very well.
I may not be able to participate every year but at least one in two years, I would like to attend.
It is worth attending even from the other side of the Pacific Ocean.
