So has anyone heard what really happened to the site? I’ve heard stories that George sold it and such, anyone know the scoop? It seems like for the last 6 months or so the site has been problematic.

Hi Tom,

Various things has happened to the site yes. We sent out a email a few days ago renouncing that vtctalk is back online. Read it below if you haven't seen it already:

Dear VTCtalk Member,

I'm happy to announce that VTCtalk is finally up and running again. We had a number of serious faults and problems that had to be solved. This included haching attacks, moving from the old Windows server to a new Linux server. Especially moving to the new server almost killed the site!

So as you are aware, this took a very long time - too long time, but now we're back! We do realize this total breakdown has been very frustrating for you and your fellow video conferencing specialists, as indeed it has been for us.

With this announcement, we hope that you will come back to the site (today!), and continue to provide useful insight and value to the VTCtalk community.

See you on www.vtctalk.com

So we had a series of serious issues and problems yes. Mostly the windows -> linux moving was a big problem. We needed to move for various reasons, i.e. better back-up possibilities, more stable server, etc.

Regarding your "loosing of the Premium member status", that has probably happened during the moving. Sorry about that Tom, we'll look into that right away. Actually you didn't loose the status, the problem is that it displays "VTC Professional" rather than "Premium member". The problem is the same for the Charter members. Thanks for putting my attention to it ;)

George sold the site yes. It was advertised on www.sitepoint.com/forum months back. I believed it was hard for him finding the required time to the forum and needed his hands free for other things.

So, the site is back up now, and we found a great guy (MrGeek) that will stick around to help us with all the tricky matters that might come up :)
