Hello,

I am getting a 4th BRI line installed so that I can do 512k videoconference on my VSX 7000. I have been looking for a cheap modem on ebay that can handle 512k, but wanted to get some feedback from the group about things to look out for. I am thinking of bidding on a used Adtran ISU 512 Multiplexer - 1202086L1. Does anyone have experience with this modem? All advice/recommends are greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Joe Brundige

The Adtran 512 is a solid IMUX and you should be happy with it. I primarily use Adtrans for VTC. Let us know if you have any specific questions.

I'd vote the Adtran too.. Since you can completely program it with the embedded screen and you don't have to connect a Laptop up..

Makes life easy.

ISU512 is now the most widely used external IMUX available today. But you really shouldn't need it these days unless you have a "secure DoD " requirement.

Speaking of IMUX's. I'm sitting on some used equipment - all Ascend/Lucent products.

Multiband MAX4000 qty 5
Multiband MAX3000 qty 1
Multiband Plus qty 3
Multiband RPM qty 26
VSX-T1 qty 3
VSX-BRI4U qty 30

Anyone interested in this?

It is too bad that the Ascend/Lucent products went to the way side. We still keep a few of the products around for Q&A work in our lab and they just never fail.

Gotta echo the ADTRAN kudos. Solid performance and we test all day with these. Customer support is good to go as well.
