Hello.
Recently my company added the e.164 alias feature to our customer's equipment. We ran into an issue with customer who have Tandberg 880s (not MXPs). We were able to input the e164 numbers. But the systems are not able to dial to another e164 number and complete the call. These systems are able to receive incoming e164 call.

Has anyone heard of this? We wondering if it could be a setting in the 880 itself, possibly a bug or maybe an upgrade is needed for this feature to work on a dial out basis.

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks

If incoming calls work when dialing E.164 but outgoing do not, you are probably not selecting 'h323' as network type. By default its set to Auto and if you dial a number the system thinks its an ISDN number. You can also implement a H.323 prefix and make it the first digit of all E.164 aliases, so Auto will work without having to select the network type.

sorry to ask the obvious question but are you registering your Tandberg endpoints to a gatekeeper?

Receiving an E.164 call would imply so, but good question to ask nonetheless.
