We're running v7.0.2 on our MGC-100's and MGR v7.0.2 on our operator workstations and have been experiencing increased MGR application aborts and just plain shutdowns. We're running on Dell XP towers and Dell Laptops. Polycom is pointing us to network/LAN issues but we're not getting close to identifying a solution. Has anybody else run into this or similar issue?

I used to with older versions but have not encounted those problems lately with 7.0.x I have still yet to put 7.0.2 on the MCU, but its running fine on PCs so far.

Packet sniffs don't lie. If that's the area of concern at Polycom, then take some sniffs to see if you are getting the traffic you should.

We are experiencing the same issues with MGC v.7.0.2 and from what I hear this is common. Polycom tried pinning the problem (surprise, surprise) to issues they thought existed on our network.
Try disconnecting the MGC from the MGC Manager and going into the properties of the bridge, click 'Advanced', the de-select the 'Automatic discovery' checkbox. Make sure it points to port 5001. Let me know how it goes.

Riccardo hit the answer right on the head. That should do it. This will be fixed on the next release.

If you have a newer controller you need to lock down the switch port to 100M full duplex...You also need to make sure you MGC Manager port is locked down to port 5001...before connecting to your MCU right click on the icon >> Click properties >> change port number to 5001 from port 80....
