Hi there, has anyone done any research or successfuly managed to glue a 3G cell phone to a H.323 Video conferencing system yet. I know Radvision has a box...And Ill probably end up having to use it...is there another way? software conversion perhaps?

We've done it many times with our 3G box in beta. TANDBERG also has a 3G gateway solution that will be available in Q1 and tightly integrates with TANDBERG Management Suite, the MPS, H.460.18/19 and streaming.

Thanks for the reply. How does your box compare to Radvision when it comes to pricing. Tandberg has never been cheap. Can the box run standalone or must it be integrated with a Tandberg CODEC?

Its a separate GW technology, connecting IP to PSTN (3G).
Not sure if I agree with the term 'cheap'. If you compare to apples to apples between vendors, TANDBERG is comparable in price. TANDBERG products have many features the competition products do not.

Hi Trevor,
I hv experience with 3G Integration with IP video conferencing, We used Polycom MGC built for 3G connected with Ericsson VIG gateway and succesful...We can call both 3G handset or IP VC to do multipoint conferencing...Polycom & Ericsson already develop multipoint conferencing over 3G.
Now I'm working in cellular operator, which is soonest will implementing 3G mobile...
