Hi, we are using our Tandberg 880 with a widescreen monitor. This sytem (and all others before MXP line) doesn't support 16:9, so either a lot of the screen is wasted or image has to be distorted horizontally.
Is there a way to make this system working properly with a widescreen display? Maybe installing a new camera will help? I know there is always a possibility to by MXP, but our company is too small for this kind of a solution.

There isn't a way to use the full screen without stretching the image. The Classic codecs do not support wide formats.
Now, you can use the SideBySide feature (appearance of 2 monitors on one) which presents to side by side 4x3 images on the same screen.

You can always get a scaler.
Something like this might work: http://www.extron.com/product/product.asp?id=in1401&subtype=42&view=over#tabs, Of course, you'd have to use the VGA output of the 880 to use it.

If interested in the scaler solution you might also want to check out:

This scaler accepts multiple types of video inputs and only costs about $1000 (US) so it won't break your budget.

.. and still get stretched video.. honestly for the incremental gain a scaler will get you vs the cost.. just use the built in scaling or cropping of the display.
I would only consider the scaler if the built in upscaler of the display provides a really crappy picture.. enough to be unacceptable.
People forget the native resolution of these large displays is quite high!
