Hi,
If the main power switch on the back of the VSX8000 is turned on, you still have a standby button on the front of the system which allows the system to go into standby(turns BLUE) or into active use(turns GREEN). Does anyone know the API command of this function???? I checked the intergration manual of the VSX, but with no luck.
Thanks.

The API command is "sleep"
To wake it back up the command is "wake"
Page 4-104 of the Integration and Control manual from July, 2005.

That will put the unit into screen saver / sleep mode, but won’t toggle the power as Laszlo is asking. I’ve asked Polycom for this feature and the ability to disable that button in the past, but at this point I know of no way to do it.
Lazalaca,
Most of my VC integrations normally have the sleep mode disbled from the codec systems configuration so that when a user selects the VC mode (Crestron/AMX) the codec is always awake and ready for use.
We tend to not run the power to a codec from a controlled power supply (such as a Firman) as this will cause possible codec noise when the complete system is started up from a touchpanel button press.
You could run other commands into different macros on the controller so that when you move away from VC mode the codec is then put into 'do not disturb' mode, this save any remote site connecting to the system when other activity is happening within the room
