Hi...I'm trying to figure out why I can't call my Codian 1405 from my Polycom PVX. When I call I get the following in the Codian event log...

44040 22:25:34.345 H.323 Info New connection accepted from 69.171.212.54
44041 22:25:34.346 CONFERENCE Info new H.323 participant 192
44042 22:25:34.754 CONFERENCE Info created auto attendant "Auto attendant"
44043 22:25:49.757 H.323 Warning Timeout waiting for H.245 connection
44044 22:25:49.758 CONFERENCE Info destroy H.323 participant 192, "lkeyes"
44045 22:25:49.758 CONFERENCE Info destroyed "Auto attendant"

Of interest is that I can do the following:

1. Receive a call from the Codian when I originate via the web interface
2. Call the Codian at the Codian U.S. office
3. Call two Polycom units that are located in the same office as our Codian.
4. Call the Codian from a DVC1000 from my office, behind the same firewall.
Regarding the H.245 connection error message, is there a place in the PVX setup to change this?

TIA.

seems to be the firewall probelm.Check your firewall settings and open concern ports. What firewall you are using?

One samll correction: model is Codian MCU 4205

>>firewall

Theoretically....both ends are outside their respective firewalls. I have my own unit designated for the DMZ on my linksys router, and the target Codian unit is installed outside the university firewall.

Also, since I can connect a different unit under the same "firewall conditions", per the listing above I'm thinking the problem lies someplace else.

I note today that in the PUG news, that Polycom is suing Codian for a patent infringment.

hi

Check your os using any firewall (Windows XP's firewall) and may be PVX is trying to use AES encryption in the call. So please disable it and try again. The PVX defaults enable the AES encryption option.
