Is there a way to override the password in a Tanberg 6000 Version B4.3 from the Remote. I had my far end go to Terminal Setting >> Network >> IP Setting and there was no place for an IP password. Please don't tell me you have to Hyperterm in older version on tandberg software to change the IP password. And yes I know the command is ippassword "" for no password..

I don't think its in the menus in older software.. it is in newer software.

You serial into it.. its very straight forward.. as it uses a standard 9 pin cable.. no funky nulls or other stuff needed

It's not on the Web interface at all?

According to the 6000 docs it is only available via telnet or serial:

'This password can be enabled from telnet or dataport using the
command: ippassword <ip-password>. The default IP username and password is "TANDBERG".
To remove this password, use the command: "ippassword ”. From telnet, this is only possible by
first entering the correct password."

Password recovery can only be achieved by being local to the system for security purposes. Using a standard RS232 cable, connect to the system and issue the ipppassword "" command. The double quote will null the password.

In later versions we introduced the ability to change it from the user interface. Telnet and Web are remote interfaces so it is not possible from those interfaces.
