I am having problems interfacing a PolyCom VSX 7000 with PRI card to a Northen Telcom 81-C with Pri card. The old system was a PictureTel and it worked fine. The only setting on the VSX that mates with my Pbx is NI-2 talking to my PBX Pri set for SL-1. The B channels come up, the D channel establishes and I can make a video call into the unit, but cannot make a call out. I get Error returns stating protocol mismatch on my PBX and the Polycom never seizes the B channels. On the other VSX seting ESS4/5, the Pri cards will not talk to each other and the D channel will not establish. If the VSX had an SL-1 setting, it should work, however it does not. Any suggestions?

The protocols the two ends of the PRI use, of course, have to match so they understand each other. NI2 at one end, NI2 at the other end. If the software load on your 81-C has that option in LD17, you'll have to set it that way (rebuild).
