Hi everyone!

I am new to VC world and need some advice on setting up my new Tandberg 880MXP.

According to the menu, after connect the codec to the LCD montior and startup the machine, a welcome screen or menu bar will shows up for config or dail call ..etc. In my case, the codec starts up with selfview which i can see myself and with the ZOOM button working only. I have tried all the button on the remote, nothing works but switch between black screen and Selfview. It is same for 2 of the 880MXP. Is there any stuff you have to set before the menu bar can shows up.

Many thx in advance.

I have 9 770 MXPs which are the same base framework. you should be able to get to the menu by hitting the OK (round button in the middle of the directional) I believe you should be able to get the initial dialing menu by hitting any number or the green call button.

the menu can be accidently disabled. To reactivate it press and hold the 'cancel' button for 5 secs > press the 'phone book' 5 times rapidly > press #2 button

this happened to me just before Christmas and that is the key sequence from memory

if that doesn't work try the 'OK' btn for 5 secs > 'cancel' 5 times > #2

Maybe somebody could confirm the correct one.

If you have it online, maybe you can open the web-page of the 990MXP and change the menu settings from there...

Otherwise try pressing the phonebook button 5 times and then number 2 button to enable MENU ON VGA.

OR you can try connecting a VIDEO monitor on S-Video out 1 and see the menu there!

I know this behaviour from other systems and think you connected your display to the sub monitor and not to the main monitor output at the codec - thats why you see your self view - the menu is on the other not connected screen...

Actually I did have the menus and then they disappeared.

What happened with me is the system was switched (by web interface) into kiosk mode.
I had the minimal menus onscreen.
I went to the web interface and turned off kiosk mode, saved and restarted the MXP.

Then everything vanished. It seems the menu was activated but invisible.

Eventually (hallelujah!!!) by trying the remote control phonebook x5 (or cancel x5) then #2 or #3 they reappeared.
Sadly I cannot remember which comination in my desperation worked but thought I should at least document probably cause and possible remedy for others.
Thanks to all for your tips!
Mike
